Carrie is not only Stephen King's first-ever published novel but will go down in history as one of the greatest horror classics of all time. This book was wild. The plot follows a teenage girl who has been bullied her whole life. She is the butt of every joke - that is until she learns she has telekinetic powers.
Ultimately, Carrie is both the namesake, protagonist, and antagonist of this story. And despite the many sides to her disturbed character, she is also one the reader can not help but side with. It's a story of rejection, acceptance, betrayal, and bloody, horrible vengeance.

Matthew McConaughey credits The Greatest Salesman in the World for saving his life and giving him the courage to go into acting. As one who takes book reviews seriously, I added the book to my Amazon wishlist ASAP.
The book is not at all what the title suggests. It really doesn't have anything to do with Sales or Selling, Instead, the book serves as a guide to pursuing your goals with laser focus. It is written as a fiction novel telling the story of Hafid, a poor camel boy who achieves a life of abundance when he receives The Legend of the Ten Scrolls from a wise master.
Each scroll is to be read one at a time for thirty days straight before moving on to the next chapter.
* I will form good habits and become their slave * I will greet this day with love in my heart * I will persist until I succeed * I am nature's greatest miracle * I will live this day as if it is my last * Today I will be a master of my emotions * I will laugh at the world * Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold * I will act now * I will pray, but my cries for help will only be cries for guidance
To learn and master anything, one has to pay the price in time and concentration, until it becomes part of one’s personality and habit in living. @officiallymcconaughey

A few years ago, the topic of psychedelics started popping up more often across the various podcasts I listen to. Really smart people - investors, scientists, athletes, professors, and physicists began discussing the pivotal role that psychedelics played in their lives. I remember reading biographies about Steve Jobs, Richard Feynman, and Carl Sagan - all of them spoke in length about the dramatic positive effect their experiences with substances like psilocybin mushrooms, MDMA, or LSD had on their unique way of thinking. It changed their entire perspective on reality, human nature, the planet, and emotions.

@observeandrapport: Home office update👨🏼💻
Guitars are in. Need to install some bookshelves, add a couple more framed posters (Johnny Cash), and maybe some small furniture.
Any suggestions?

33 Life Lessons on My 33rd Birthday

Thirty-three was a big one. Mostly because I became a dad. Our daughter was born on New Year’s Eve — a fitting arrival for a kid destined to reset everything. It’s been a beautiful, if slightly sleep-deprived blur ever since. I’ve only been “Dad” for less than ten months, but if I’m being honest, I’ve been preparing for the role for over …

Everyone wants faster information. But no one asks if faster information leads to better understanding — or a better life. In the age of AI and tweet-sized wisdom, we’ve confused information with transformation. But there’s a massive difference between knowing what a book says and being changed by it. The Delusion of Instant Learning In a recent interview, political journalist Ezra Klein admitted he once believed …

The Jack Reacher Approach to Never Being Caught Off Guard

There’s no difference between a pessimist who says, ‘Oh, it’s hopeless, so don’t bother doing anything,’ and an optimist who says, ‘Don’t bother doing anything, it’s going to turn out fine anyway.’ Either way, nothing happens.” —Yvon Chouinard, Founder of Patagonia I don’t read much fiction, but I’ve always been hooked on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher. He’s not your typical …
