Sam Walton was definitely the O.G. of retail. I enjoyed reading about his journey, his hard work and customer-first mentality, and how Wal-Mart completely changed the face of retail from humble beginnings. The book goes from teaching you the value of a dollar to how to manage a company.
Sam Walton is a great example of a man with very strong values and principles, despite all of the success and failures Sam never sacrificed his core values. If I had to summarize the book into top 3 lessons this is what it would look like:
1️⃣ Be passionate about learning, Sam Walton learned so much from people around him, his co-workers and from all his competition and it was one of the key elements of his success.
2️⃣ Take action first and a lot of things will fall into place. We always think about preparing ourselves perfectly for a situation before we take any action on it however if you look at Sam Walton's story he usually learned by taking action.
3️⃣ Be ready to experiment until it works. Most of what Walmart did in the early stages was trial and error until they got the right formula.
So the lesson here is never expect things to go perfect from the first try, persist until you get it right.

A lot of people think the law of attraction is a bunch of BS. Wishing for something isn't going to make it magically appear. Nonetheless, I strongly believe in the power of our thoughts. Perhaps the greatest words of wisdom ever given were from King Solomon, "As a man thinketh, so is he."
What you think in your heart is what you believe to be true. Beliefs are simply repeated thoughts with strong feelings attached to them. Nothing is either good or bad; thinking makes it so. The energy you give out is the energy you will receive back.
This book is the follow-up to the international bestseller, The Secret. Personally, I prefer this one over the original since it gets right to the point.
The only drawback of these books is that they are filled with a lot of fluff and whimsical language which tends to send people running, but the message is important for everyone to hear. Give to receive. Give love to receive love. Give positive energy to receive positive energy. Give joy to receive joy.

Watching this four-part documentary on Netflix, it's obvious how a governing body without any regulation or oversight will naturally become corruptible over time. It's almost inevitable. When votes sit in the hands of only a few, they can be bought and persuaded in ways that a regulatory body would never allow. Sepp Blatter and his predecessors paved the way for millions of dollars in bribes, corruption, and swinging World Cup votes to countries that had no business even being in the running.

This app has been blowing up this past week. A friend of mine posted a bunch of amazingly accurate AI portraits of himself looking futuristic. I asked him how he did it and he sent me a link to this AI app called Lensa, which is available for download in the Apple App Store. There is a free 7-day trial before they charge you $35.00 so make sure to cancel your subscription after you use it. You will have to pay a one-time fee of $6 to get your images, but once you upload a few selfies it produces 100 super futuristic AI images that you can use for your social media profiles or just to show off.

Maybe it's maturity, or maybe I've just been blind to this fact my whole life but as I've gotten older I've come to realize how fleeting the high of getting drunk or gambling is, and it only brings you more pain. Maybe not right away, but eventually, any behavior pattern based upon the avoidance of pain becomes a doorway to the pain itself.
