The Weekly Rapport #4: Five Things I’m Loving Right Now

Thoughts coming out of the weekend:   Loyola is in the Final Four - and it's not Maryland, but Chicago. Nonetheless still rooting for a fellow Jesuit Loyola school to take home the big prize. It's been so much fun to watch this team. This March has been particularly crazy with some of the upsets, …

The Weekly Rapport #1: A List of What I’m Currently Enjoying

I'm big into finding out about new products, books, songs, artists, apparel, etc. So a lot of the newsletters I subscribe to send out something every week about the top things they're loving or hearing about. I tend to get a lot of good ideas from these and I figured I should start my own …

The US Military invaded Iraq in March of 2003. A complete war was launched on false reports & pretexts. Then there was no planning for the aftermath of the invasion - no understanding of local culture, values, and factors involved. Three short non-fiction books you should check out I’ve been following Nick from @bookthinkers for a long time and have always admired the passion he exudes for reading. Nick is clear in his message that we can grow our lives exponentially by exposing ourselves to new ideas through reading and learning.  Barbarian Days is a memoir written about a man’s love of surfing - from his early days growing up in the 60s in LA and Hawaii, his dropout years traveling cheap and looking for waves in the 70s and 80s, and then his progress to respectability and fatherhood.  Trees make books. Thought I’d pay my respects 🍻 One year and 13 episodes later, it’s been awesome getting to film conversations with my best friend. When I launched Observe and Rapport, I had no purpose. I knew I wanted a creative outlet but I never intentionally set out to make it a book-focused page or anything like that.  “My goal isn’t to say what did happen - it’s to prove that the official story didn’t.” Hook ‘em🤘🏼
